Hi. to all New to this Forum.
Has anyone had a Hitch installed on a Trail Hawk that was aftermarket, there is Curtis , Daystar and Hidden Hitch. I was able to find Pictures and it looks as though it sits Low .
On the Factory Hitch it is in the middle of the Bumper . Whats needed is the Bumper, a facia cover, Hitch ,and wiring harness . We made a deal with the purchase , for aftermarket hitch but I think I am going to have them install the Factory hitch.

I put a hitch on mine.

I would not bother with any hitch that doesn't go inside of the bumper cover. All of the external ones hang down and hinder the ground clearance and departure angle.

Installing the factory hitch was a huge pain, but couple of advantages. First, it installs right where the rearmost brace for the bumper goes, so the weight difference is small, and second, it has a provision for a tow hook so if you have a non-Trailhawk version you can still put one of those red stout recovery hooks in.

Renegade Ready is where I bought my kit. They include the facia and a template to cut your existing bumper to fit the template, so no new whole cover required. Just cut carefully.

Mine is a Trailhawk too. The red hook that came with the vehicle just transferred over to the hitch while it was on the bench.

They got my hitch stuff to me in a few days. Was not a problem. They provide after-sale support if needed.

Just be aware, it's a real burden to do the install. You have to deal with body clips, have to set the template right, and if you're wiring up for lights then you have to account for that too. there are writeups, I strongly advise studying them before getting started.

It took two of us about seven hours total to do the install, and I have a lift which made it a little easier. Others have reported that it wasn't quite as bad for them.

Thanks for the Info .Dealer ordered the Hitch and Wiring as part of the deal and I have to buy the bumper . I might have them install as they will do it through there New Car tech instead of through the Shop. He said it is 2 Hours and It looks like a lot more . I do not have a Lift. Could do it but not sure I want to . Plus I heard you have to program the Lites .

I took power off of my taillights, which is how it's normally done for hitches that are not factory-wired. I considered the factory wiring until I saw how involved it would be and figured it wasn't worth it.

I don't really intend to tow, I put it on for a bicycle rack or the like, but if I'm going to have a receiver I didn't see any reason to not wire it for lights.
