So I have been seeing a few posts around the web; About Intake kits from AEM. ... http://www.jeeprenegadeforum.com/fo...em-k-n-intake-installation-2-4l-gasoline.html
But my question is: Has anyone else done a functional intake kit that was a true kit for the 2015 Jeep Renegade 2.4L? and was it an actual kit? the one in the link above seemed like it was created from another kit. Also has anyone heard if K&N will be putting out a Filter? Instead of a full new intake tube kit, I would settle for the K&N filter that fits in the stock box. If this has already been
answered on another thread I didn't see for give me I just joined Toasterjeep today.

It's very likely that AEM has put out a kit being that the Renegade is so closely related to a Fiat. That being said, if you plan on taking your Renegade off road, I would strongly discourage you from installing one. While I used to be a fan of intakes in the past if only because they sound nice and offer up more room under the hood, I have seen way too many engine get ruined by them. This is especially so with the 3.6L motors that the newer Wranglers have. The intakes simply allow for too much dust to get into the motor and for the little to no real performance gains you will see with one, I just don't think they're worth it. Of course, that's just me.

Thanks for the reply. Yes I agree about the dust and dirt. I am mostly trying to get an idea of what's out there and what people are doing to their renegades. I still think K&N filter in stock box might be a good idea when one comes out. Any thoughts on that?

Anything less than a factory paper filter will not be enough to keep the dirt out of your motor. I have personally seen and have friends who have had their warranty voided because of it. Again, if you plan on using your Renegade off road, I would not recommend it but that's just me.
