Anyone else think the Renegade looks similar to the old International Scout? My first 4x4 was a 1965 International Scout that I just loved.

I see the similarities. Especially the rear side window shape.

My dad had a red one of these when I was growing up. I loved it. No wonder I loved the Renegade the first time I saw it. They look very similar.

Yes they are !!! I wish SCOUT is the name instead of the Renegade. I just bought a renegade and always got reminded of the name when it is parked next to my TJ in the driveway. I owned a CJ Renegade in the past as well.

    I learned to drive in a '61 Scout travel top - 152 CID - 3 spd - 2 wheel drive.
    Parents got a '67 Sport Top that I drove through high school - 196 CID - 4 spd - 2 wheel drive.
Purchased my own '69 travel top in '75 - 304 CID - 4 spd - 4x4 - International Harvester Red with snow plow.
Yes, my '17 Renegade Latitude FWD in Colorado Red reminds me a lot of the Scouts I've known in my life.
Nice lookin' Scout... and Renegade too for that matter.

Some. The side window shape at the beltline and the nature of the inset grille with the round headlights set into it mostly.

The detail of the fenders and quarters at the wheel openings more reminds me of the '72-'80 Dodge trucks and the '71 to '73 Plymouth GTX, those vehicles had fairly distinct outer-swoops like these Renegades do.

I had a 72 scout as well, 304 and automatic. I always felt that the renegades lines reference a bunch of early 70s styling cues but in a way that's hard to pin down exactly. But definitely in the front grill and round headlights and the sweep up at the bottom of the back side windows and even the way the hood lines turn up into the front windshield pillars, its got scout DNA.

My scout was a beater when I bought it but I still loved it. I would run all summer long with the hard top off. I think its partly why I wasn't going to settle for a renegade without mysky.

The renegade definitely pushed my Scout nostalgia buttons.

I know I am going to bring the haters for this. So I apologize if the haters/snowflakes get mad. The Jeep Renegade that had a mild mid cycle refresh in 2020 to me looks similar to a Ford Bronco (1st generation) or an IHC Scout. I think they look more like a Scout (80/800/?) than the Scout II. However it does look similar to both Scout series. What are your thoughts? I thought I was the only one to think this but I see several online forums are discussing the same thing. You can google it. I had a 1979 Scout II for a while. I do not own a Renegade, but it is on the short list of next vehicles for me.

Absolutely! That was a selling point for me. Has darn near the same hood among other things. I had a '76 Scout II with a 345ci. 2 barrel and 7"lift 373's running 33's talk about a wheelin rig!

THANK YOU TO ALL THE ESSENTIAL WORKERS! So I am thinking of buying a new car. These are all related to new. I feel guilty. Anyways, right Jeep Renegades are 0% for 84 months. Also I see rebates. You can get sport 4x2 for under $20,000. I know for 19/20 it had a mid cycle update. The Renegade shares platforms with the Jeep Compass, Fiat 500x, Fiat 500L and a few other vehicles. I know I am going to get hate mail but I think the Renegade looks similar to an IHC Scout or 1st generation Ford Bronco. I know it use to be an option but do sport renegades come with A/C and or cruse? Is there tilt and or telescoping steering wheel? 2.4 Tiger shark vs 1.3 turbo multi air. This will replace my 2012 Toyota Prius C. Anything else that you want to share on the Jeep Renegade would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
