I wave to jeeps too mostly to wranglers and renegades, got nothing in return. What ever gotta start somewhere.

I don't bother waving to most stock Jeeps since most of them aren't "Jeep folk" and don't really know enough about the Jeep community to know about the wave. If they wave, I'll always return it though.

If I see a Jeep with offroad mods, tires, or covered in mud, that's a good sign that they know what's up, so I'll throw them a wave. I occasionally get a wave in return. Definitely more frequent since I started building the Renegade up a bit.

For the record, I think the Jeep Wave decals are slightly silly, but that's just an opinion :)

Numlok I am glad you mention this. Your observation is what I thought the reason why I have good vibes to off-roaders. I do the same and never had bad reaction to the ones that has aftermarket mods like mine. They wave back at me because as you see I have spare at my rack and roof basket, blaked out grille, black steelies, etc... maybe we think alike (or something). On the other hand, most mall crawlers don't respond at all :/ and I am not surprised.

Now that I have a TH. I've tried waving, no response. I've owned multiple wranglers, all bone stock, I still got waves, most of the time so know both sides of the coin. Shame the renny isn't getting any respect, capable right off the lot.

I got a very enthusiastic wave from a heavily modified Wrangler this week... I was about 25 miles off the highway between Black Rock and Red Pocket Mountain at Grand Canyon National Monument in the northwestern corner of Arizona. I get a lot of surprised looks from from off-roaders when they see me in my stock '15 TH... It's incredibly capable right of the lot. 20170413_134554.jpeg

Waved at the first and only other Renegade I've seen while driving my Renegade. She wove... waved? Whatever, she enthusiastically flapped her hand in my general direction.

Always wave to other wranglers while driving my YJ. Seems like the older the wrangler, the more likely they are to wave back.

I don't get shit for waves in my rene. Everyone and their mother would wave to me when I was in my built JKUR.

I haven't initiated a wave but have gotten a few from fellow Trailhawk owners.

The likely reality is that other renegade and wrangler owners are unlikely to wave unless they see that you're jeep is altered in some way from stock, as it's a good indication that you're an actual enthusiast and not just someone who bought a jeep. Which is a little weird to me, because I would think THE WAVE would be a good indication that you're an enthusiast so anybody would at least return the gesture.

BMW folks do a high beam flash. In my M3 which is clearly modified I get a lot of flashes from folks in bone stock BMWs and I always flash back. But I don't go around town flashing every Joe Blow in an M3 because the vast majority of them just bought it because it's flashy and fast, not because they are M3 enthusiasts.
