In the beginning of October 2018 NM received a winter storm. The Manzano Mts received about 4 inches. The Manzanos boast one of the last stands of Rocky Mountain Maples. There is a road that turns off at the 4th of July trailhead road that ends at Tajique. It is one of my favorite roads to go mudding on after a rainstorm. It was especially stunning with the white contrasted with the fall foliage.
