I have a 2017 renegade sport, 1.4 turbo 6m with 67000 miles and recently have developed what I believe is a misfire. It only happens at higher rpm's like 4k under hard acceleration. It will hesitate a bit and make a sputtering/popping sound. Vehicle is stock with the exception of exhaust removal.
I changed my plugs not long after it started Andi didn't notice anything I would consider an indicator of any issues. I am not showing a check engine light so I don't believe any codes are active. Has anyone experienced this before?

What part of the exhaust has been removed? You've changed the back pressure that your turbo is used to, so it's probably changed it's spin up/down speed. Reducing back pressure in the exhaust is usually a good thing, but the system has to be tuned to deal with it.

well I just installed 4 new coil packs and went for a quick drive. all is good now and she pulls all the way to 6k with zero issues. it didnt seem I was losing any power during normal driving but it now seems much smoother during shutdown also.
I hope this helps anyone having an issue like this.

Well, it sounds like your computer may have adapted to the change in back pressure. Plus if it seems to have gotten better after changing the coil packs, you may have have a coincidental failure with them getting weak. In any case, I'm glad it's running better now!

I believe the multiair is known for some coil issues which is why there are replacements from several mfg. I personally haven't had any, but as it's getting up in mileage, I will be replacing them soon-ish.
