Hey guys, I need help replacing the inner tie rod on my 2016 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk edition. I have replaced a few tie rods before, however this one seems to be very difficult for a few reasons. I snapped the inner tie rod with no visible damage to the outer tie rod. So I bought a mavotech inner tie rod to replace it. I have purchased an 8 piece inner tie rod removal set, however the stock tie rod seems to be smooth all the way around the part that screws into the pinion. My replacement tie rod head has flat spots for a wrench or tie rod removal set to turn it. I would just take it to the Jeep dealship I purchased it from to replace it however they want over 800 bucks to fix it. Does anyone know what tool I need to remove the factory inner tie rod? Or what size the tie rod head is? Any help in this department would be greatly appreciated as it is currently sitting on the lift in my shop until I can figure it out.
For inner tie rods that don't have the flat spots for a conventional tie rod end socket. https://www.amazon.com/ABN-Inner-Tie-Rod-Tool/dp/B06XWBZ4YN
