New Renegade owner, very happy to have found this forum. I've been reading alot about this vehicle before I purchased and now. I'm fairly certain I'm going to go ahead and purchase some parts for "performance" upgrades, the Madness autoflash and gopedal, and also a K&N intake with magnaflow exhaust. Everything I've read has convinced me that this is about the best bang for the buck and probably about all you can do for "performace". My question is this: has anyone tried the whole combo of parts and how did it do in your Renegade?

Thanks for looking and your responses. Look forward to much more reading here.

Congrats on your new Renny! I don't have all of that, but just to comment on what I do have... I have the K&N Intake and the autoflash. Massive difference even with just those two upgrades. The autoflash decreased the shift time exponentially and the intake has a cool sound and definitely has an obvious power difference. Have fun with your Renny, I hope I helped at least a little.

Thanks for the reply. Glad to hear the difference is actually noticeable with the upgrades. Ill be taking a cross country trip soon and plan on towing a light trailer with my motorcycle, hoping to get all this done before then in the hopes it will make the trip a little easier on the Renegade.

Awesome! I tow a 750cc Kawasaki 4-wheeler with a dual-axle trailer easily so a motorcycle shouldn't be a problem. Surprisingly, it didn't have much of a noticeable power drop.

Excellent. Got the Autoflash and gopedal on the way. Looking forward to getting them installed! Now I gotta save my pennies for the rest of the goodies!

    Follow up:

Got the Autoflash and GoPedal installed about a week and a half ago along with the K&N intake few days after that. So far I am very pleased with the improvements these minor upgrades have provided. If i had to choose just one, Id say the GoPedal provided the most apparent improvement, but having all 3 upgrades is great. I drive about 45 miles back and forth to work daily, and another 40 miles 3 times a week to pick up my daughter from gymnastics, in the last week my average MPG improved by about 1 MPG. Not a big gain I know, but considering the improvement in the way the Renegade feels, (eccelleration, shifting) and sounds, im very happy with the results.

Did any of you need to change the exhaust as well when upgrading to the K&N intake system? I just got a 2017 Renegade DesertHawk & thinking of upgrading the intake. Was wondering if a change in the exhaust was also necessary to see gains.
    Thanks for the info.

Congrats! and welcome to the forum. I assume its a 2.4L? If its a 1.4L there is a lot of performance upgrades... piggy back ECU on a 1.4L can gain 30HP easily... I cant wait to see the person who ordered the 2.4L turbo upgrade.

Same, I am eager to hear about anyone using the 2.4L turbo upgrade. One of the reasons I didn't wait for 2019 models. I wanted the option to add turbo to 2.4l in a year or two.

Good to hear about the K&N, GoPedal / Madness stuff being worth it.
1 MPG would add up over a couple years to some $$ to pay for new CVs :D

Intake generally improves the sound of the engine only, the exhaust will help on the top end a little. Basically without access to the ECU, no real gain will be had. That said, I simply disconnected the intake silencer from the airbox to enjoy the much deeper sound when opening the throttle.

I have magaflow muffler installed and run a k&n filter for highway driving(paper for offroad). That's all you really need. I also just drive in the manual shifting( I have a trailhawk).
