I posted this over on waylalife.com, but wanted to move this post on over here, and do all my updates on this forum. Its more fitting, I think... Awesome to find some non-haters of the Renegade here. I had to give up my Wrangler as some costly repairs were coming up and driving a ton more was not really working out for me getting like 14 MPG. There is absolutely no comparison. The JK is for one thing the Renegade is for another. So this is neither an upgrade or downgrade. I guess it is really just whatever is best for you and what you ultimately want to do! Thats why I love JEEP, something for everyone. Anyway just thought I would share the new Renegade. I bought it with 11 miles on it, and currently at 200 - so far I love the hell out of this thing. Just ordered the Thule Aeroblade Edge rails from CARiD. Stoked to throw my bike and a roof rack cargo basket on there.
Welcome to ToasterJeep!! Awesome shot of your renegade and it's nice that you posted this up here as well
Welcome to the toaster jeep forum Jake Thanks for the viewpoint from a wrangler owner to A Renegade owner nice. Same goes to you T.Jay Regards Mick
Update: Added Thule Aeroblade Edge crossbars and a cheap highland rack.*sorry about that previous post, the built in media hosting doesn't show the images on mobile*
I got the extended warranty 10yr 100k mile warranty and I'm wondering if that was a good idea. As I figure it...this vehicle is a first of its kind, so no one knows what's going to fail/go wrong after 3 years and 36k miles...so I figured it was a good decision! Your thoughts are appreciated.
I got the 10year warranty on mine for that reason as well. I've had to use it already. I think it's money well spent.
Not sure what I spent as that is my wife's department. It had a defective oil feed tube gasket from the factory. It has been replaced and so far so good since.
It happened when I got it home from the dealer. It would have been covered. I've had it for a month. Six or seven years from now it will still be covered. That is the other reason I chose the 10 year warranty. I plan on keeping this vehicle as long as my '04 Wrangler that I traded in.
What gave away that the oil tube feed was jacked up? I've noticed that the horsepower lags a bit when the vehicle is going 30 or under. When you press on the gas it takes a bit to kick in like its struggling.
Mine was leaking oil. Not sure if it caused anything else. I only drove it 5 miles home and back to the dealer.
Is the 2.4 L tiger shark engine idling supposed to make a loud ticking noise?!? It just seems strange that the engine is so loud...almost sounds like a Volvo or Subaru engine.
