wheels are 16-7 40mm offset. Had to use 1" spacers. because the wheels I got did not have bored out spaces between the lugs (due to 2 lug pattrns) the stock lug bolts were sticking out. I had to shave them. I know that is ghetto, but it worked fine. Lots of threadlock !
tires are 225/70-16.... So far they drive great, I feel like the jeep is happier with the bigger tire. It shifts smoother, and Gas mileage isn't suffering yet. Still have to hit some big bumps to see if they rub at full stuff, but I dont think they will.
Looks good. Man looking at those shortened bolt heads makes me cringe though. It would sure be a pain to get a good torque with so little for the socket to bite onto.
I agree. I was able to get 95ft/lb no issue, but I am currently looking for a better option. Chances are that those adaptors will never come off again, but I hate hack work.
yes. they would rub on the lower part of the strut. I tried to put them on without the spacers and it was a no go. I will say though, I have no rubbing with the spacers, and they still just tuck under the fenders, so no go-cart look. If I were to do it again I would have bought spacers that convert to 5x100 or 5x114..... that'll give you way more wheel options. too late now though. Damn instant gratification. it'll get ya.
haven't seen tha tin person, but I would guess that would work no problem. In my opinion though, the 225/70-16 size looks like it's what should have come with from the factory. If you're spending the money, why not go big?!
Short head lug bolts are available on ebay for about $35-40 shipped. Makes the spacers go on much easier.
hmmm, i'll look into that. Thanks ! I'll have to do some research on the width and thread pitch of the current bolts.
