Just wondering if anyone else has seen this.

A while ago one of my fog lights died. I just got around to changing it today and the passenger side wouldn't fit with the new bulb. When I finally got a closer look, the whole housing is melted and burned and discolored. I have seen one other instance of this exact thing on another site like carcomplaints.com or something.

So has anyone had this? And I replaced my headlights with HIDs a while back, do I need to remove those before bringing it in to have the housing replaced for warranty purposes?

I actually had the same thing happened on my driver side and I had no problem they just replace the unit I actually looked at the passenger one and it is a little melted but not to the extent that the driver side did and they put aftermarket bulbs and I would just swap them out and put the originals back in and bring it in

Yeah don't tell them you ever put HID's in and hopefully they will cover it.

Not renegade specific, HID lights run hotter and can melt housings like this.

Grrrr... I recently had the driver side fog light replace under warranty due to condensation inside and water. A week later I noticed the passenger side had melted so I replaced that myself at $$$. Switch back to LED bulbs.. Not HID friendly ...
