To make a long story short, the other night I picked up my date, she jumps in the car and as soon as she sits down, dashboard lights start, throttlebody light, seatbelt light, even though she's buckled, airbag light, and parking brake auto-engages and won't disengage while she is seated.

Take the jeep to the dealer, parts no longer under factory warranty. They think there is a burnt out module in the passenger seat that it causing the issue.

I asked if I could simply unplug it, dealer says it's tied into the passive restraint system and unplugging would error the system and jeep would no longer pass inspection.

I opted not to pay the $800 which they later told me, they weren't sure this would even fix the issue.

Does anyone have any suggestions that I can try, maybe fuse or something like that?

I'm thinking of trying to unplug the seat for now, and next month for inspection, removing the seat.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You realize that this is a Jeep forum right.....? Specifically for the Renegade made solely by FCA....?

I realize this is a forum dedicated to the piece of s*** vehicle made in Italy that has no quality standards like Jeeps before it I owned a renegade for over a year it cost me nothing but trouble it's spent 192 days in the shop for the 391 days I owned it cost me $4,700 out of pocket while under warranty. I took my concerns to FCA themselves I talked to many of the representatives that are on this forum they all told me to go f*** myself that it was not their problem. That i would need to pursue them in court.

So good luck is all i can say.

Hey doesn't matter to me. Just curious. I've had mine for 12k and have had no major issues. Cars are a complicated thing, and every manufacturer has issues. It's a luck thing really. Your car was a lemon, and the insurance company should of fixed that issue before the dealer started charging you. Crappy dealer seems to be your issue here.

    Have a good day.

This seems like you need to call Corporate. Doesn't the vehicle have a six year, 60,000 mile, or 100,000 mile warranty depending on model year?

That mileage is for the powertrain warranty, not the 36,000/3 year bumper to bumper. The 2015 Renegades have the 100,000 and 2016/17 have the 60,000 powertrain warranty.

    Oops hit send by mistake

This all happened in the course of a year
Jeep of America was already to buy it back it had gone back eight times for lights issues
And then I saw the problem was on ABC evening news with the jeep renegade, something about rain driving lights blinking I'll look into my paperwork and get back to you. Good luck
I definitely would not sell it and buy a Toyota that's not the issue try to speak with somebody in Detroit Chrysler Jeep
    This problem is not new
Please be patient have more information tomorrow good luck once again Cory

I took my Jeep to every dealership within 125 miles of my house every dealership told me they were told not to touch my Jeep by the engineers at Jeep under the authority of your Jeep socialist specialist Jeep cares on this forum. If my jeep was a lemon and every Renegade made in North Carolina was a lemon because there was always two or three in the shop having the exact same issues as mine.

Emily the last Jeep cares representative that was on this forum told me on a phone call if I can't afford to fix the Jeep myself to go buy a Toyota cuz they don't break. That was two days before I sold my Jeep and I will never own another one again fuck that cunt and her company.

Rather lose 10k then do bussiness with fca and feed their profit to further fucking over customers.
