I know I can add a skid plate with the one from Rocky Road, I would have to have one fabricated for Daystar. Is the hight the Daystar sits at better for use, looks like it's a little higher.
I like how Daystar has a lot of add-on's for theirs which allows you to go the extreme or minimalist. And it looks pretty sweet too. The whole thing makes me think of an ARB bumper. I'd like to see a side view of it to see the positioning of it. I haven't seen or looked hard for specs on what thickness of metal it's made of so I can't speak to its quality. Looks pretty expensive for the complete set up too (con). RR's is built like a tank but the only things you can add on are lights and the skid plate. I have this installed on my jeep. I also like Daystars rollers for the winch. I've yet to use my winch, but those rollers would be nice. For the price, RR's is a good option though. Without factoring cost and assuming the quality is comparable, the Daystar setup appeals more to me as a complete hard core off road package.
The pros on both is that you can carry a winch. The cons on both is that you will loose a lot more head on approach angle and can potentially add a lot more weight on the nose of your Renegade.
Has anyone anyone built any heavier duty coils for the Renegade yet? For the JK, we could always change them out to compensate for the extra front weight. And with a bike rack or other addition to the rear, it would be much heavier there as well. Bumpers and winches hopefully mean new suspension packages will be on their way...
Not that I know of but, I have loaded up my Renegade pretty good and haven't seen too much if any noticeable sag in the coils.
My winch mount made my front end sag about 1/2" but they put a 1/2" boost there too to compensate for it.
