    Dear All,
My Jeep Renegade Trailhawk 2015 2.0 diesel (European version) is having issues with the selec terrain knob. The knob works from time to time and randomly flashes and the ilumination goes off - no response. Then sometimes it lights back on and you can operate it just to see it goes off again. It is very frustrating becouse all the drive modes are randomly unavailable and as well as 4x4 lock or downhill assist.

The car is still on extended warranty, went to my nearest official Jeep dealer-service 3-4 times and the guys replaced the whole module with new one, same issues happened the next day. They have no clue what do do now. Last time they loaded some new software but it also didn't help. I am getting tired of going to the service and seeing no progress.

Anyone experienced such issues? I asked them do give me some printouts from test and here is what it was:

    ECU DCT CODE DCT DESC

ABS C1260-86 HILL DESCENT CONTROL MALFUNCTION
BCM U145F-09 TSBM (TERRAIN SELECTOR SWITCHBANK MODULE) - COMPONENTS FAILURES
BCM U145F-87 TSBM (TERRAIN SELECTOR SWITCHBANK MODULE) - LACK OF MESSAGE?
IPC U1801-08 LIN IPC ....can't translate directly to Eng, something about master board issue?
    DCTM C2202-64 TERRAINSWSTAT SIGNAL UNAVAILABLE...

Here you can also see the symptopms:

Any support or clue is very much appreciated,

    Regards,
    Maciek

to me it looks like the switch have a bad power connection. Since the fault codes seems to be from a failure to comunicate with the canbus properly.
Guessing that the module they changed was the switch module, did they check the connector?

Thanks for reply Conydetition, I forwarded your advice to them but they seem to be deaf fro any customer feedback or clues. I picked up the car from service yesterday after 5th attempt to diagnose/fix this issue. Not only I was not informed if they found a root cause and fixed the issue but they have accidently disconnected the USB port in the center armrest...another vistit this Friday. I am really fed up already with this dealer and their customer service.
