What's your build date. The renegade took a LOOOONG time to get it's IIHS crash rating. That usually means that they didn't like the outcome and asked to resubmit. This usually means something was changed. In the case of the renegade it appears to have been resubmitted due to less than ideal small overlap results with a note that the now listed acceptable rating was for those built after July 2015. My guess is that plate is what they added to deflect the wheel out of the wheel well in the small overlap test.
I have a 2015 Latitude 4x4 with the 1.4L and manual tranny, and I do not have that bracket. FWIW, my build date is 07/15.
I have a 2016 4x4 Sport with the manual trans. Mine came with that part. I removed it to make room for my larger tires.
