The TeraFlex BU Renegade 1.5” Lift Kit gives your BU Renegade an altitude adjustment for more backcountry explorations without compromising highway ride or handling. Unlike other kits, the offset front IFS (independent front suspension) strut spacers in our BU 1.5” Lift Kit account for the mounting angle of the factory struts to ensure proper camber and caster angles up front. Out back the rear strut spacers and angled rear lower control arm spacers correct rear camber to ensure suspension alignment falls into factory specs. This kit also maintains correct wheel offset.

Looks like a winner if it does what they advertise. But how can the same kit of parts work on TH and other models when there is some difference in initial ground clearance from the factory? Wouldn't that affect the wheel alignment issues on one or the other that they say they solve?

It stands to reason that the taller springs included with the Trailhawk model don't push the camber and toe angles outside of the vehicles adjustable range, so this kit would be an improvement over the American Trail Products lift that does not account for camber change. Granted the ATP lift does give you an extra 1/2 inch of lift but the Teraflex kit comes with quick disconnect swaybar joints. I drive a Deserthawk and have already ordered this kit, so I'm hoping for the best. I'll be sure to post some pics and details of the install once it's complete.

Please do post your experience. I have a DH as well, and I am interested in this lift. If I ever got my nerve up to do a trail that needed it, the swaybar quick disconnect idea is very attractive.

Just put Daystar lift on, this post is 2 weeks late. The adjustment for the strut angle is a big seller. My alignment is off by about 1/2 degree all the way around.

Oh man, advice needed. I have a Daystar lift sitting at home waiting to go on that I can still return. Do I want this one instead?

Here's some things to consider. 1st of all I won't be changing it out. Daystar lift is polyurethane, it looks like Teraflex lift is metal. Daystar lift isn't metal on metal so no issues with squeaking or corrosion. My alignment is a little bit out of factory specs. I will post a pic to show. This can be corrected with some modifications which I may do but it may be okay as long as I rotate the tires every 3000k. Teraflex lift states that it corrects for that. I would want to see the alignment specs after installing it to confirm it. Though I'm thinking if they advertise it it is probably true 'cause Teraflex seems to be a refutable company. I think the Daystar lift was designed more to fit on non-Trailhawk models, though it will fit on a Trailhawk with minor modifications like trimming part of the lip on the drivers side skid plate, etc. I don't know if the Teraflex is like this. Daystar was the first lift for the Renegade. I think as time goes by other manufacturers will perfect the design and make "better" lifts. I am happy with my Daystar lift. It's on and it's going to stay.

Your front left looks way out of spec! I'm too lazy to rotate every 3k miles. I'd prefer to do it whenever I get my oil changed. Think I'd be able to get better specs on my non trailhawk?

Red = negative out of range
Green = positive out of range

Front left is -1.1 and front right is -0.3
Rear left is -0.6 and rear right is -0.2

So it's gonna pull because the camber on the left is greater negative than the camber on the right and your front toe vs rear toe, it won't be strait. Albeit, this may barely be noticeable, if you let go of the wheel at 60mph, you're gonna change lanes by yourself.

I'd get some camber bolts front and rear and have the alignment redone, toe is simple to correct, but wrong camber plus wrong toe will make a vehicle twitchy as hell going down the highway.

*I may or may not have done specialty alignments for a while lol [emoji23]

the springs are the same in both. height difference is because of tire difference

Do you think the Teraflex will help with the alignment issues?

I don't do a lot of highway driving. Basically about 25 miles per day at about 35 mph with a monthly trip up to the mountains. I plan on getting mods done to put alignment back in range. I'll rotate my tires in 3k and see how they are.

I think I'm going to return (or sell) my unused Daystar and get this one.

    Anyone interested?

How do the camber bolts work on the type of suspension the Renny has? I've been youtubing it and nothing looks like the same suspension that I have.

Just stopped by this local alignment shop, has good reviews, been in business for 40+ years, etc...told me that they couldn't fix camber on a Jeep because of the type of axle it is. Explained to him I don't have a Wrangler and he said it didn't matter. He told me I'm so far out of whack because my axle housing is damaged. I told him I haven't done anything to damage anything. He told me camber bolts wouldn't fix the problem. Either he doesn't want my business or I don't think he knows what he is talking about. I'll be calling other places.

He clearly doesn't want your business. It's also not really a jeep, it's a fiat. Not like other jeeps that may have issues like this. Definitely go elsewhere.
