One big advantage of going down to a 16" wheel is the availability of mud terrain tires. When looking at different all terrains they can be found in the correct sizes for stock 17's. adding a spcer can cause added stress so you have to pick and choose back spacing and offset carefully. Basically you want the center of the wheel directly over and centered with the hub. A little this way or that way wont matter as much. Might need to replace the unit bearings a few thousand miles sooner is all.

Im trying to find better looking wheels so that is my reason to do an adpater vs traditional spacer. Will give me more options

Is anyone out there running 16 inch wheels with 225/70r16 tires and NO lift?? Those tires are the same diameter as the 225/65r17 that fit on an unlifted trail hawk.

So I was wondering if if 16s with 1 or 1.25" spacers and 225/70r16 bfg t/a would fit without a lift.

Does that mean all models will have at least 17 inch wheels?

I read that with spacers 225/70r16 isn't doable without a lift and major trimming.

But I still can't find an answer for the largest sized tire you can do with 16" rims and 1.25" spacers.

Did you happen to find out?
