The UConnect system, does it also monitor critical functions?

    Sorry for the long post...

    Reported a system failure where the system would reboot itself for no apparent reason. They said it needed a software update. The update not only failed but crashed the system all together. They have to replace the system. I've been waiting over a week and still no system.

    Question for you connoisseurs...
    Is it risky driving a vehicle who's system is not functioning? It's not just the radio and reverse camera; it also monitors and reports malfunctions with airbags, lights, e-brake function, etc? Doesn't it?

    I tried and they are basically treating me like I'm a stupid women, I know nothing and brush me away. I'm trying to get them to put it in writing that my Jeep is safe to drive... of course they won't confirm it. They are dancing around the issue. Do they all go to bullshit college to get a job at the dealership?

    Take it to the dealer and ask to speak with the manager of the building or owner if he is available make it abundantly clear of your problem and that you purchased a new car and you expect everything to be working properly he will discuss the issue with the manager of the shop and they will rectify your situation

    Hi Sophie, is you system up and running now. I am having the same issues with my unconnect and have just done a update on the radio via my phone can it seams to have worked for now. Just wandering what the fix was for you. Thanks

    Hi Rob
    Two weeks in and it wasn't fixed. They said it was fine to drive but didn't want to put it in writing. Few days later, I was driving down a major road and the car almost stalled... since when do automatics stall! No warning lights, nothing!

    Went back to the dealer who proceeded to give me a driving lesson!!! Yep... it's all my fault!

    Needless to say, no respect whatsoever. Refused to admit my car was unsafe. They treated me like I was just a stupid little women and sent me on my way.

    I walked into a different dealership, told them what happened and said I wanted out of this car. I traded in for a Cherokee! I took a financial hit and lost all the extended warranties but wasn't willing to spend the next 3-5 years constantly arguing with that dealership on all the issues I was having. Mine was just a lemon. They are not all like that.

    The UConnect doesn't work the same in Canada. We basically just have a fancy radio. We can't see system reports and do things like use our phone to start the car. I can't use the app at all. We don't even have the assist button :(

    I'm sure you'll have better luck with yours. I'm glad to see your update worked. I miss the Renegade a lot. Cherokee is nice but not the same feel at all.
