About a month ago I put on Avid 2.5 lift and eibach springs. Right off the bat both front outer CV joints started spitting grease. Found both boots were torn. I had a hard time getting both front strut towers in place, so I figured I damaged them while installing. Last week I tore down the front axles and replaced both boots. I did find it was a lot easier to get the strut tower back together by taking the 3 bolts off the bottom of the control arm. This time I was very careful not to damage anything while putting back together. The first 50 miles no grease in the wheel well. After a trip from Vegas to big bear both boot tore again. I’m thinking the angle of the axle is to much without the added weight of a new bumper and winch on the front. Has anyone else ran into this? I’m replacing both front CV joints and boots again this weekend and I’m thinking I need to take the eibach springs out. Really sucks because I love the way it sits right now.

I have a 2016 Trailhawk. I installed the Avid 2.5 inch lift with ATP spring and Bilstein B6 Struts (can be seen here) that I installed in July 2019.

While I was doing the lift, I went ahead and installed the AVID Front (with Warn VR-8 winch) and Rear (with tire carrier) Radius Bumpers (I have the added weight). I do not have any problems with the CV boots leaking.

My question to you is; did you use the stock struts?
If you did, did you clearance the lower inside piece of the strut so that it doesn't make contact with the half shaft?
I ask this because, if the strut is touching the half shaft it could be causing the CV joint to want to separate on contact which would cause CV boot to stretch/maybe tear.
... it would eventually, also cause damage to the half shaft.

If the Renegade has a good ride with the springs, maybe consider a smaller lift before dumping the springs. 1 or 1.5 inch lift to replace the 2.5 inch lift that you are using. It would be an easier job than having to separate the strut assemblies. probably cheaper too.
If it rides stiff, I guess the springs would be the way to go.

Just trying to help troubleshoot. I hope you get it figured out.
    Please keep us updated.

I have the 2" w/ eibachs. No problems with boots. Did the install myself with lots of help from here. Mostly a daily commuter. Put 2600 mi on since install. About 400 mi of that have been road trips and 15 mi of offroad. Not sure why the extra .5" would be so drastic. I think there might be some small differences in 2.5" to 2" than just the height, but I'm not sure.
