Having this fun issue suddenly... basically, uconnect crackles a little bit and then locks up. After about a minute the system reboots and comes back. The problem repeats after 10 minutes or so. This morning the reverse camera also stayed on after backing out of my driveway. I had to park and shut off the car to clear that up. I'd love to hear any ideas. IMG_0454.JPG

Same problem here, but no answer. I'm planning to leave it at the dealer this weekend.

I'm going to try a hard reset... I'll let everyone know if it works, or if something else changes.

    Got it too.
Apparently U Connect is having issues and they'll be fixed within the day or so.

I had the same issue this morning. 4 time my Uconnect 5.0 system shut off, Displayed a message "Audio System not Avaliable", and then rebooted after about 20 seconds.

I created a thread on the forum as well: http://toasterjeep.com/index.php?posts/12988/
I didn't see you had already done this.

I called the UConnect support number 1-877-855-8400 to ask about the issue I encountered.

The representative said that is a known issue, , as they have been getting numerous calls today, and it is not just affecting the renegades, but a lot of uUconnect systems.

They are currently working on publishing a KB article about it, but it is not available yet, so she explained that the issue is caused by the Bluetooth connectivity to the Uconnect system.

Disconnecting your mobile device from the Radio should stop the problem from happening.
They are working on a software/firmware update that will fix the issue, and systems that are cellular equipped will receive the update OTA, but for other users they will be sending the fix to dealerships, and they will be able to apply the fix. Your dealship should be contacting you once they receive the fix.

Thanks for the info. Mine just started doing the whole rebooting thing that everyone is experiencing this morning. One more thing, what is OTA? It that over the air?

How many people having issues also have XM radio capabilities?

Wife rans hers by the dealership this morning that have this very same thing looked at. An update by Uconnect I believe she said was the cause, and the dealer had some sort of software that fixed her problems. Don't know if its something that Uconnect will be able to fix on their own, or if it will have to be taken into the dealership like hers was.

Mine has given me no problems so far. I have the larger screen and Sirius, whereas she has the smaller screen(and Sirius) system if that makes any difference.

    Hi everyone!

Yesterday, owners of vehicles with the Uconnect 5.0 system (RA2 sales code) may have experienced a condition where their radio would freeze and restart repeatedly. This condition was caused by an update to the Satellite Radio signal, that the radio could not handle. As of 1:00 PM EST (January 30, 2017), the situation has been resolved and your radio should function normally again.

We deeply apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused. If you are still experiencing any concerns please let me know ASAP!

Now that we are on the topic of the 5.0 radio, when will an update be available to make it compatible with the iPhone? It seems silly to not have that from the factory.

    Hi ocelotl,

Can you be more specific with what compatibility you're asking about? Additionally, if you can provide the vehicle year, radio, and current software level, I can find out more information for you.

Wow! Thank you for taking the time to get back to me. As I've come to see, iPhone functions such as Siri and text messages (though there is a text icon on the screen) do not 'work' on the 5.0 radio system, though rumor has it that an update to do just that is available for the 6.5. So I'm waiting for this update to hit the 5.0. I've checked my VIN recently on the Uconnect website and it says I'm current. This is what I am referring to.

I have a 2016 Trailhawk with the 5.0 Uconnect Radio. I apologize but at the moment am unaware of my current software level. How could I go about figuring that out?

Again, thank you for getting back to me. I look forward to hearing from you.
