Cool video. By the looks of it is an IFS/ rear solid axle?

    Negative. Independent front and rear.

I saw they used the word killer in the video. While this jeep is cool, that word should not be associated with it. Lol

far from "killer articulation" but the approach angle is a huge bonus

LOL @ "killer"!! I couldn't agree with you guys more on this. I really like the new Renegade but the marketing guys at Jeep are nuts for trying to push it off like it's some kind of Wrangler. I mean, I think it's great that they show it doing what it's doing but really, most people who want to go wheeling like this WON'T be looking for a Renegade to do it. It just seems to me that they're trying too hard to market to the wrong audience. Of course, that's just me - what do I know.

I'd be willing to bet many people buy these and take them into more hard core areas because they think they have" killer" articulation. Wonder how many will be getting towed out of bad situations. I am making the assumption these will be non-Jeep people who don't know any better but have a vehicle that is good enough to get them into trouble.

The way Jeep is marketing the Renegade, you might be right. I could just see car rental businesses pushing it off in the same league as a Wrangler. I say this only because I've had car rental joints push a Kia on me trying to suggest as much. Where this becomes a problem is in places like Death Valley or the like especially in the winter when the passes can get buried in snow. We've found stuck German tourists in situations like this in rented Mercedes AWD wagons and on multiple occasions.
