This happens specifically between 35-40 mph (5th gear). If I have driven for a period of time it stops occurring (about an hour). I can feel it in the gas pedal and the sound cuts out immediately when I lift my foot off the pedal. Happens with and without traction control on. In and out of 4wd. It does this in auto/manual shift with even intervals between the noise. You could set your watch to this. Link below to a video I uploaded to YouTube. Anyone able to give some insight as to what might be causing this? Would like to have some sort of idea on what it might be before having the dealership look at it.

    idk? please keep us posted.

There has been an issue with the air filter box inlet tube vibrating and causing a similar noise. The tube that runs from the air box through the fender. One of the mounts break and cause the vibration.

I was told to check the u-joints. But this is far different than any u-joint sound I've ever heard. It's so oddly specific when it happens, makes me worry that it's going to be very difficult to pinpoint.

Fun fact.... Renegades don't have conventional u-joints. Not even at the end of the driveshaft.

Mine makes the same noise at those speeds. I noticed I’m missing one of the studs that hold the engine cover on. Not sure if that’s causing it. It’s the front passenger side one. I can’t find a part number to replace it to see if that fixes it. I also suspected the front skid plate. Whomever installed it before I owned it, didn’t put it back on like it should be. I’m just not sure how it should be. I know the torx screws (along the front) with the nuts on them should be screwed to something.
