    It is the cover for where tow eye/hook/thing gets screwed in. You can get the tow eyes from quadratech for about $25 a piece. Got me one for the front and back. The back one is hidden better!

    A proper trailhawk type towhook? No. This tow eye is used to get the Jeep on the back of a flatbed, or help tie down a canoe, or something. I wouldn't use it as a recovery type towhook. That is an aluminum piece (from what i can see) that the toweye screws into. That would get ripped out real quick.
