Can anyone tell me what this is? I'm thinking a sound resonator! I am looking at having a shop fab a straight piece to replace it. Need to slimline the undercarriage to help with a skid plate for the carrier bearing.
Is that not your catalytic converter? Only hack that off if you want Motor vehicles to re-evoke your registration.
I'm not sure if it's the cat or not. I thought the cat was under the engine up front but again not sure. I also did not see an o2 after that triangle can in the middle.
It is a resonator. You are correct the cat is up front, the resonator in the middle and the muffler in the back. Most aftermarket systems you buy delete it. I'm going to on mine and put a magnaflow muffler on.
So you are deleting yours and you are replacing the muffler near the back with a magna flow? Also have you heard the 1.4L with the resonator deleted? I'm sure it will sound ricey vs throaty! I am going to a few shops sometime this week to get a quote on deleting the resonator.
This is the 1.4 with cat only And yes i am deleting my resonator it's just for sound has nothing to do with emissions. I'm going to try it without a muffler first and if I don't like I'll put a magnaflow on
Yeah I don't know if I would like the sound with no muffler. But the resonator has to go for sure! I will save it just in case it needs to go back on. I will go with a magna flow once the oem gives up!
