So, the factory tires on a Jeep Renegade TrailHawk is a 215/65 R 17, essentially a 28" tire and I'm wondering what will be the biggest tire you can run without any lift. The issue of course being that I'd really like to run a more aggressive set of All Terrain tires but most come in sizes that are bigger than this - at least, when it comes to Nittos. What do you guys think? What tires would you consider with this Jeep?

I need to see one in person, but I would think a 32 x 11.50 or 33 x 12.50 would be about as big as you could get without making it look like a Stomper.

the biggest problem I'm finding is what kind of adhesives should I use to hold the tires on my toaster, I find it a two ton epoxy breaks apart with anything bigger than 33

LOL!! I was just kind of hoping to clear 31's. 33's would be like running 40's on a JK :)

lets keep this constructive Tig. Thanks

i think a 32 will be the biggest you can go stock witout major modifications and maybe a little trimming. i hope its not like my stepdad nissan xterra pro4x where if he went up to 33's from the stock 32's you have to trim a lot of the inner plastic in the fender

Kind of looking like that might be the case with anything more than a 30" tire. I really have to get a first hand and personal look at one of these things to know for sure though. Man, SEMA can't come soon enough! I'll most likely go to the LA Auto Show as well to get more of a non-show Jeep look too.

Does it have a full-size spare? That could be another issue. If there is a compartment for the spare it may become unusable with a bigger tire.

didnt think of that. it would deff force you to get a aftermarket carrier or just run the risk of having to use the donut

You know, that's a good question. I have a feeling that if you go too much bigger than stock, a roof rack option might be in order.

Would there have to be some regearing involved by going to a bigger tire?

LOL!! As a matter of fact, I did. The TrailHawk comes with a roof rack from the factory - just need to add a basket of some sort to carry stuff. I'm sure there are a lot of options available already from companies like Thule and Yakima :)

So long as the tire size change isn't too significant, I would imagine you could get away with a speedo calibration and call it a day. Go too big and yes, you would need new gears which is probably not something that will be readily available - if ever.

I think the best would be to see what the stock tire size looks like before going bigger. It might be that the Renegade needs is a more aggresive tire than stock, like the Nitto EXO Grappler.

Super swamper SSR in 265/70/16? it's a 31" tall tire. that would look pretty sweet I think

I too would like to know what tire choices would be feasible for this mighty midget. Perhaps a 31" BFG? Does Nitto make MT's in anything smaller than a 32?
