Dealer just called & told me they have 16' new TH that was wrecked on a test drive. MSRP is 32K, he told me they have not reported the wreck & they repaired it @ their in-house body shop. They replaced the front bumper, sensors, hood & everything near the bumper. no unibody damage. It was a t-bone wreck pulling out of the dealership. Question is can they sell it as new, what would you offer for it & should i use them not reporting the wreck as a bargaining tool or report them to the AG?

i know, that's whats giving pause. What happens to the warranty? do i have to bring it to them for as long as i own it? or do i low ball them down to 18K & include new a/t tires & the lifetime warranty & celebrate getting a really good deal at their expense? it's a gamble for sure......

I would avoid that dealer like they insulted my mother. That's shitty business regardless of legality.

i know, that was my 1st thought. Shady as heck. but the xheap ass part of me says they aren't my normal dealer, stick them for everything i can get out of them on a fully loaded TH, including new tires & life warranty. if i don't do anything they sell it to someone & thinking it has a clean vin & they get screwed down the road

As long as the warranty is good, you don't have to ever visit that place again....use another Jeep dealer for any work and warranty stuff. They seem awful shady, that's their bad. If you can benefit from it, I say go for it.

I wonder, what else didn't the dealer tell you?????? If you think you can get a great deal go for it, but I would be skeptical of them.

Unless you can take it to get checked out independently run far and fast...

I bought mine from CarMax, '15 / 11k miles / $23k with bumper to bumper 6yr 100k mi warranty... Love it, no issues, clean and clear. Shady dealer looking to avoid insurance claim wants to pawn their problem off on you. I waited a year and a half for mine... Got it two months ago and having a blast with no second guessing. They're hiding something. Play it safe. Wait it out.

I agree with TheFoo. Get it independently checked out. Their offer is truly shady, but if the deal is too sweet, and youll lose sleep if you miss it, and you consider you are basically buying a "used car" with no true guarantee of what will follow, if it were me, I'd get it independently inspected. Then I'd low ball the price to what a used wrecked/repaired Jeep is worth, and ask for all incentives on top... and ask for any extras they have on hand. At least get a ball cap. ;)

Thanks, its one of those too good to be true deals. I have a 16' Latitude w/ 6spd & love it. Just went off roading this afternoon. To be honest I'm great with what i have right now, not going to chase the carret. Thanks for everyone's input.

I had a pickup several years ago out for test drive and was rear ended. Very minor damage but in VA they couldn't sell as new, so they gave it away the following weekend in a radio promotion.

I paid 19,260 for a brand new 75th anniversary edition fwd. I wouldn't trust a dealership like that, regardless of what they offered.

    It's shady business practice imho

If you were dating someone, and they told you they had cheated on you, but promised they wouldn't again, could you ever really trust them?

This dealer sounds horrible. I wouldn't do any business with them.
