Big O tires offers a 235/65r17, It offers a 3 year 60,000 mile free replacement warranty with it. Cooper makes them, but you would have to pay for a prorated warranty going with the Cooper, it's included with the Big O Big Foot AT
I have a lifted sport with stock 16" wheels. Does anyone who has 235/70r16's have any input? Did they rub, were spacers needed? Im looking more for people who have at least 100 miles on them to give input. I only see those who had just installed given a review of that size. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It's good to look at the ones who have already run the 235/65/17 as it's just over the overall same diameter of your 235/70/16. The width of the 235 needs a spacer, or a wheel with a offset to kick it out some. I bet you'd need to do the pinch trim, as that's the factor on running wider tires
Having to do the trim is whats making me double think that size. Id rather not cut my brand new vehicle. Prior to this ive had lowered volkswagens and frame cutting to those to get your car lower has caused major headaches for people when they had to do things like insurance claims or manufacturer warranties. 225/70/16 is probably what Ill end up going with. Thanks for the input! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It's been written (on another forum) hammering only bounces the hammer back at you. And that's with making multiple cuts to 'help'. It's a double seam, and the dude had to go back in and cut and weld the seam shut. Also caught some stuff on fire with the heat of the welding
So question is the GeForce better than the Daystar which one do you guys prefer and do they have about the same lift or is one higher than the other
I've read several posts that claimed you could fit 235/70R16 tires on your reny w/0 rubbing issues (although I could find no pictures as evidence). So with a bit of faith in the integrity of the folks in this community I purchased the Kumho Road Venture AT51 235/70R16. By golly they fit quite well (see photos below) Images: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BzJhIHIMWzTHTTh3VWkwb3pCaXM https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BzJhIHIMWzTHYUVKVjM2cmptY28 https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BzJhIHIMWzTHUmxRalE1d1BhWVk They were rated comparable to the K02 but quite a bit lighter and a lot less pricey.
So after reading all these posts about tire size I have heard mixed information, what is required to fit 225/65/17 KO2s on a trailhawk?
That is correct; stock ride height, no spacers, no rub. This is the 2015 Renegade Sport 4x4 with the 1.4 turbo. I have even bounced around some rough backroads (hence the mud and dirt in the pictures ) with no signs of rubbing. There are some posts in this forum that seem to indicate that the spacers actually cause rub at 3/4 turn when using a 235/70r16 tire. Which sort of makes sense if you think of the spacers as extending the radius of the steering arc outwards a bit.
As I understand the BFG TKO2so 225/65R17s will fit without needing lift spacers or trimming the pinch seam. I did the lift and spacers before getting the tires.
Several on here are running the BFGs in that size with no spacers or lift. You should be fine, go for it!
Correct. From what I have seen, 225/70/17 is the largest aggressive tread you can run on a 16" wheel without having to do any trimming. Several people have the 225/75s, but have had to trim to get them to fit without rubbing.
