2015 Jeep Renegade Dissected by Car and Driver

For those of you who are interested, Car and Driver just published an article dissecting the new 2015 Jeep Renegade...

 

In an email from Jeep that I got, it shows that the 2015 Renegade will come with two motor options.

 

im not gonna lie i am getting excited about this. did you happen to see a price point eddie? i cant seem to locate one

 

I have not seen a price point yet but, based on other vehicles in this class, there's great speculation that it'll start in the $17,000 range and if I could guess, a fully loaded TrailHawk will hit somewhere in the low to mid $20,000's.

 

good to know! i like that $17,000 figure as i will be looking into a base one to lease. i dont need anything fancy

 

I'm receiving the emails too. I also received some written literature but I have to say that it was a PITA to read because the pages were cut horizontally in several parts so you could flip through different components.

 

LOL!! I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who had issues with it.

 

At one point and time, there was an accidental $16,000 price published but was quickly removed and Jeep denied it was the actual price. Whatever the case it, to reach the toaster market, the Renegade will have to be in the sub-twenties.

 

You know, that's a good question and I want to say that a manual will only be available on the non-TrailHawk edition Renegades. This does suck as I was really hoping to get another manual in the family as it's what I enjoy driving most.

 

the more i read the better i like it. i really do hope that the 4x4 model gets over 30 mpg tho and its not just the front wheel drive that get its.

 

LOL!! I went from every Jeep I owned being a manual to all of them being an auto. While this new 9-speed tranny should be real nice especially with the MPG, I think I would still prefer one of these with a manual - just because I miss having one.

 

Do you know if the trail hawk is the only 4x4 version or will the sub models also be 4x4? And I read they will only be manual? I want an auto of its for my daughter.....

 

They will all come in 4WD, the TrailHawk just comes with a low range. The TrailHawk will be a 9-speed auto - I don't think it'll be available in a manual.
