Hey guys, I was just wondering and thought I would ask your opinions, could I run a 15" rim and get the bfg mud terrains in a 235/75 r15 on my trailhawk? I am planning on putting the daystar lift on before I get new rims/tires.

I've read that because of the brake calipers, you can't run anything less than a 16" wheel. Even with that you have to have a 1" spacer to clear them.

I would be inclined to agree. I would think a 15" rim would have clearance issues with the calipers.

There are a couple brands that you can get a 235/65R17 in cooperation at3s Toyota. That's the same size using a 17".

I already emailed BFG about adding a couple sizes to go with the Renegade, maybe if more people send them requests for different sizes they might put them in production.

What about a 235/70 r16? Lots more options in that size

There are more options with a 16"rim, just concerns on fitting over the brake calibers on the trailhawk. Wayalife used the 1.25"spacer and still chose to grind a little off the calibers to make it fit.

225/70/16, 225/75/16, 235/70/16, 245/70/16, 245/65/17, 245/70/17 all potentially possible, well the last 3 potentially. What other sizes do you want? BFG makes a lot of option, but TYPICALLY, are more designed for trucks, (bigger)Jeeps, heavy duties, etc.

16" with spacers is only if you have a trailhawk only because trailhawks have larger brakes if you have any other model 16" without spacers. But now I question whether or not a 15 could fit a non trailhawk with spacers

I have a trailhawk, could I do rims with less offset instead of spacers?

No because the offset no matter how far you take it the rim circumference would rub the brakes it would be alot easier to purchase the smaller brakes from another renegade model say from a wrecker with smaller rotors. Then you would have no issues. But the spacers should get you to 16s without issues.

Your brakes will be clear do to it being a 17" rim, but if you start going to a wider rim you might run into issues from the width.

Sorry for all the questions, I'm new to this. So what is the difference between spacers and going less offset with the wheels?

There is no difference. Right now there is no 16" or 16" wheel with a 10 to 20 offset. The only one I found was one from G-force and it was a 16"x7 with a 20et.

Actually I had found one before, I think it was on wheel pros. It came as a blank so you could have it drilled to fit.

Negative - I did NOT have to grind the calipers.
