Obviously we agree on the poor bracket design that should have never happened. As for having to notch the skidplate, I obviously have not done this myself, so I was/am not sure how much material needed to be removed. None the less, if I'm buying a bolt-on kit, I would perfer not to break out the grinder. Lastly, the sway bar endlinks. I'm going off of what other members have complained about with them constantly coming loose and making noise. Yours might not, but others do. I've had a Daystar lift on my old 2009 JK and I honestly loved it, but it was just a small spacer lift with just the 4 spacers involved. So I'm not trying to dog Daystar really, just that their lift for the renegade may have been a little rushed and needs a little more R&D.

Yup, totally agree, never should have happened and I know Daystar is kicking themselves for allowing it to slip through.

Very little - just the lip and to be fair, I don't know if I've heard a single person having to do this. In fact, I've questioned whether or not I really needed to do it but here you can see what was done.

As you can see in the photo, the issue was a result of the drop bracket sitting too close to the skid plate. Of course, the drop bracket sits that low because for the amount of lift you get from the kit, this is the amount of geometry correction your suspension NEEDS in order to retain a factory like ride. If there's no way around the grinding and you really want your kit to be all bolt on, you shouldn't go this high.

And, I have to wonder if maybe - just maybe, the reason why "others" are having this problem is because "they" aren't doing something right. Just a thought.

Honestly, I couldn't give a hoot if you were dogging on Daystar. If they've done something wrong like ship out sub-par brackets, they should take their lickings and make a better product. All I'm trying to do is keep things straight and put things into perspective and based on personal hands on experience.

I have the sway bar link problem...on one side. Lift was installed by the dealer, but I was quickly able to find the problem and tighten the nut. When it came loose a few days later I had my husband tighten it, now I don't usually let my husband touch my vehicles because he can be a little overzealous and often breaks bolts by overtightening (he is a beast) it came loose again a few days later so I swapped out the Daystar nut which is supposed to be a locking nut. The problem, caused by faulty hardware is solved -again I have had zero problems with the nut on the other side. And quite a few people have had this issue.

Fair enough. As I stated, it was just a thought and based on someone posting up third hand information. I don't trust dealerships to do anything right and I know that of the people I've heard with this problem, they've all had their lift installed by someone else. If you were able to have the problem fixed by installing a different nut, that's good to know. I just double checked my links right now and even after 3,000 miles and a lot of that off road, my links are still on tight. Maybe I just got lucky and got better hardware.
