Hi, I noticed this forum when looking for others who've experienced the same battery problem as me. My 2015 Renegade is in the dealership for the 5th time with a drained battery. The key fob and door locks tend to stop working a few days before this happens which has been every 2 to 3 months. It's so frustrating because I loved this Jeep! I loved it so much that I bought it from a dealer in Iowa so I could get the exact one I wanted - Manual transmission, Commando Green, Mysky... I started a case with the resolution center and it sounds like they're working with the dealership and apparently there's a new code to fix the door locks. Hopefully this helps. I've missed 3 days of work and am considering demanding a buyback. Has anybody had this problem and had it actually fixed?
I had my 2016 in the shop 3 times last year with almost the same issue: mostly dead battery, but my locks and fob still worked. The dealership said they put it through all kinds of tests and they couldn't find anything wrong, was I perhaps leaving something on? Riiiight, I said. I told the salesman "You know as well as I do, if I left something on, the Jeep would beep, buzz, shake, and basically punch me in the face until I turned it off, these things have so many warning doohickies." Finally they gave me a brand new battery last March. Guess what? It left me sit again yesterday. I couldn't even jump it using my husband's vehicle, had to place it on a trickle charger overnight. I really think these batteries are way too undersized and do not have enough cold cranking amps for their purpose. Ciao!
Yes, just two weeks ago the battery died for the third time. We have the 1.4T as well. The dealer replaced it under warranty, and so far all is good--even in the really cold temps we have had lately.
