Bit long, mostly a rant but if anyone has any advice I'd love to know if there's any way to escalate this.

My 2015 Renegade limited has given me 34,000 miles of trouble free service. The only time it visited the shop was for scheduled maintenance... Until about 34,000 miles.
In a little over a 2 weeks it was literally a case where every time something was fixed something else would break.

first sun roof motor was having an issue, scheduled an appointment to get it taken care of and the morning of the appointment a new knock started under the engine. Turned out the tensioner pulley bearings had gone out. They fixed the tensioner pulley and ordered the motor.

Motor comes in and I schedule a day to bring it in to have the work done. Day before work is due a grinding and creaking starts in the suspension. Lower control arm needs to be replaced, has to be ordered.

A few days later they call and tell me the lower control arm is in, make the appointment to have it replaced. Suddenly the temperature starts rising every time I come to a stop and the check engine light comes on. I check the code and it's a fan control relay. Dealership says the fan control relay is bad.

Now up to this point I'm pretty ok because the dealership has been johnny on the spot dealing with everything.

However, with the fan control relay, I'm told the part they need is back-ordered, the jeep shouldn't be driven as it is and they're going to put me into a rental.

Here I sit 3 weeks later, my jeep is still sitting at the dealership and I'm driving around in a fiat 500, which honestly is a nice little vehicle. My issue is I'm paying for a 4x4 fully loaded renegade and I'm driving in a mid range fiat with none of this.

Last time I asked if there was an ETA all I got was "Sometimes it's 30 days, sometimes it's more"

Anyone else had to deal with this type of situation? Any ways to escalate the issue for a better response?

    Thanks

Lucky you got a rental.....some don't. Hopefully you get to keep it until the parts are in your JEEP.

I am a Manager with enterprise and deal with Jeep/Chrysler recalls and repairs often. Any time FCA has a back ordered part it’s usually 4-6 weeks of shop time. BUT also just a little insider note, go complain to your service writer that your rental doesn’t suit your needs and you want something comparable. For warranty they always authorize the absolute cheapest thing (500 is an economy by our standards and maybe 15 a day in rate) and for 10 more a day they could have you in a renegade or compass. They are just cheaping you out.
