For those of you in the U.K. that are interested in purchasing an all new Jeep Renegade, pricing for you has just been released! Check it out...
I just looked and £1 = $1.57 In other words, the base price of £16,995 would be about $26,682. Of course, everything costs more in the U.K. and Europe as a whole so, I wouldn't put too much thought into this number. It really has to suck buying cars and gas over there.
That price is lower then the other European markets isn't it? Seems like the price is going down the farther east it comes.
All European pricing is shown with the VAT tax embedded. This adds 20% to the listed UK price. To compare it to the non-taxed pricing reflected on US stickers, you will need to back that out of any EU pricing. This brings the net price for the UK model to $21,345. As another comparison point, if you look at the base model in Hungary which includes 27% VAT, the net price comes to $19,095. Still high but more in range with what I believe you are expecting.
Yeah, I figured it was something like that. It's just been tough to see these numbers in lieu of the fact that FCA has been keeping a tight lip on things here in the U.S. I just really feel that in order for it to succeed here in the U.S., it NEEDS to sell with a base price at about the same price point as their Patriot now which is about $17,000.
