I have a warning light that my license plate lamp is out. I changed the bulbs but they still do not work. I'm having issue finding where and what fuse control its. Anyone know?

There is no fuse for the license plate lights, they are run through the Body Control Module (BCM) and they run two separate grounds, so if both are out, it's unlikely that it's going to be a ground. Fuse 53 in the fuse box, but if that fuse was bad, you'd have a lot more lights out. The Body Control Module is in the end of the dash by the drivers door, and a single wire from there feeds the plate lights, if they are both out, I'd guess an issue with that wire.

Probably a dirty connection. A little dielectric grease would help make a better contact and keep the contacts from getting corrosion.

    Something like this, (click here).

@zuke, where are you getting the schematics?
Is there a link that you can share?

Google searches, that one was from 'Just Answers'... Lots of mechanics there tend to post schematics when answering questions...

Actually, That's not all that unusual, If the BCM Detects a no/low voltage (like if you change an incandescent for an LED, or the bulb completely loses contact in the socket) It will shut the circuit down for a while, If you have a scanner/reader with code clearing abilities, it can reset it immediately, otherwise it may take a few running cycles of the Jeep, and the BCM will try the circuit again... Not really a brilliant design choice in my mind, but hey, it saved like 6 fuses per Renegade, It adds up for FCA!

The following link will take you to the Wiring and Fuse Schematic shown in post #2 (from there save as a .jpg or .pdf) - http://tinyurl.com/wcldd7k
