So, I'm probably going to be ordering the Renegade Ready hitch, which means I'm going to disassemble the rear body to install it, including removing the factory final crossmember/bumper insert, which also means pulling the driver's side red hook.

I'm thinking I'd like to have a passenger's side rear hook too. The stock bumper inside and the hitch don't have the same mounting on the passenger's side, looks like it's intended for that thread-in eye-bolt that none of us received. If I have the new hitch and the old bumper though, I'm wondering how bad it would be to have that hook mounting on the old bumper cut-out and welded into the new hitch bumper.

Admittedly I am not a welder. I'd have to have someone else do this work, either a friend or a shop, probably a shop so that my friendship isn't impacted if this goes wrong.

    Any thoughts?

With a hitch receiver, you could always just carry a D-ring and mount and just use it as needed.

The OEM TH hook on the rear will also work with the RR kit. I have a non-TH and have already ordered the rubber trim insert and clip that comes on the TH, just waiting on funds for the hook. The hook actually bolt to the Jeep and has a slot to allow it to pass through the factory bumper brace or the RR receiver so I may not work on the right side. If you want the part number for the rubber rim that goes around the hook I can look at my invoice.
