First off, hello everyone, I am new to the Toaster Jeep community and also a newly proud owner of a 2017 Trailhawk. I'm totally in love with it and am addicted to upgrading things on it to benefit the offroading experience. Anyways, I do A LOT of off-roading at night and found that I could use more brightness to direct me as I reverse. I figured that the simplest, cheapest and most obvious upgrade would be to replace the stock reverse lights with LED lights, and boy oh boy did I not expect to be in a world of confusion. I started off by watching a video on youtube of someone replacing his lights with LEDS and being quite successful and happy with it. I ordered the same exact lights as he installed, using his direct link on his youtube bio. The lights work just fine, BUT the drivers side light stays on--at about 15% brightness--even when the car isn't in reverse. It stays on for about an hour long after the car is shut off. After researching, I'm aware that LED lights use less energy, therefore will glow dimly from any sort of current that flows through. Well, okay I could live with that, BUT by having my reverse light stay on while I'm driving at night seems quite sketchy, as I drive on the busiest and most cop infested freeway in Las Vegas, literally driving on it every night. The last thing i could use is a fix it ticket or something.
Sorry for the rambling, but lets cut to the chase.. Have any of you ever experienced this? I went through four different sets of LED bulbs, ALL having the same issue. I was told to install a 'resistor' but have you guys ever done it? If so, some help as to where do I install this? Which wire exactly? Literally, anything will help at this point. Maybe you have experienced this and finally found a bulb that doesn't do this? That would be of great help also. I've been doing major online research on this and have always come up short.
I have said enough at this point. Thanks for sitting through my gibbering and thanks in advance for any help!

when i did mine i just soldered a small 1w 330 ohm resistoer across the pos and negitive metal leads that run up the plastic "tower" holding the reverse bulb.

it won't matter. the resistor is not polarity sensitive
