    Hi,
I am planning to buy a Renegade (1.4,170 or Trailhawk 2.0, 170). I was waiting for renegade and went for a test drive the very next day it came out. The price of a cherokee lattitude is same as Renegade trailhawk. I am also thinking about Kia Sportage for I get a better engine, features and space for the same amount. I drive a Kia Soul at the moment. We are a family of 3. The youngest member is 1.5 years old.
    Dilemmas:
Renegade is same category as Kia Soul.
Space for a family of 3
Cherokee and Sportage have more space

Please suggest, is it good to be the only car in a family.
I would really appreciate any kind of advice, no longer how long or short.

    Welcome to ToasterJeep!
Regarding the Cherokee VS the Renegade: The Renegade has a lot more over head space. I'm 6 foot even and I cannot fit comfortably in the back seats of a Cherokee. You also get about 3-4 mpg more with a Renegade.
While I haven't seen a US crash study, the Renegade received a high safety rating in the EU. Which is great since you are like me and will be hauling young ones around.

Personally I wouldn't hesitate to make a Rengade my only car and I am a family of 4.

I don't have any info on the Kia. I've never looked into them.

I just came from a 2014 Kia Soul, to a Renegade Trailhawk. Best decision I've ever made. I loved my Soul it was fully loaded but after being in the Renegade for a few weeks now, I'm happy with my decision!
You feel like your in so much more car, and you feel much safer because of all the body that surrounds you. Drives nice, much smoother, I live in Seattle and the roads suck here, pot holes, bumps, it's so nice to not feel like my car is going to break in half after hitting one!

Nice! Yeah I loved my Kia Soul, panoramic sunroof, ect. But I've always wanted a more rugged vehicle, and I felt as though I wasn't settling when I switched to the Renegade. That is why I went with the Tailhawk, it was still everything I had and more. I couldn't be happier!

I would choose a Renegade over a Kia Soul any day. More capable, rugged and better looking in my own opinion.

A family of three is easy to get around in any of those you've listed. The real question lies in what you want to do with your family. My family of five get sound just fine in my Wrangler and my MB. The Infinity 2 door, not so much.
