Finally installed some crossbars and a 66" roof rack. Love the look of it and makes the renegade look beefier. Enough clearance for the electric MySky and enough room to remove the panels.

The rack looks great, How much clearance was there for the sun roof. My wife is wanting a rack for our Renegade.

I don't know what the exact clearance is but there is plenty for the panels to come out and for the electrical portion to operate. Honestly this was a fairly cheap set up for me. Here is the link for the crossbars.

And here is the link for the rack itself.

I am considering also bringing it to a welder and having them weld all the points that slide together and get rid of the screws and gaps. Given that I live in Maine I really don't want any moisture getting in those tubes. I did however put rtv sealer on all the open points already and rtv where all the screws went which seems to be holding up pretty well, so I may not end up getting it welded after all.

Also almost forgot, I cut the crossbars down. They come as 60", I didn't take an exact measurement after I was done. But I cut both bars the same length, and cut them enough that the hang over wouldn't make the jeep or rack look goofy.
