This range of mountains is in South Central New Mexico (one of the US states in case you wonder), known as the Capitans. Smokey Bear was a cub found there during a fire in the early fifties. Anyway, there is an antenna farm on top of Summit Peak, 18 Jeep miles from the town of Capitan, NM. The road starts out as the route to and over Capitan Gap but turns right at the summit of the Gap and then gets rocky for about 15 miles.

My wife and I took a technician up there to work on a repeater. Our 2018 Renee was on stock 215.65.17s but used the low range and ROCK position much of the way. The rains over the years have removed all the dirt from the road leaving nothing but rock. We touched down a couple times, especially on the rockers, but no damage. It so impressed the tech that the next week he ordered a 2018 TH from Carvana!

I let him drive down and then I took a photo of one of the better stretches of road.

I forgot to mention that it took us almost 2 1/2 hours to go the 18 miles, quite a bit of it at or less than 9 mph! Oh for a lift! And now it is sporting 225.65.17 Falken Wildpeak A/T Trail tires with 1" spacers.
