After purchasing my Renegade TH, I was concerned hearing that I may have issues using MySky power sunroof with roof rack crossbars. For those with similar concerns, I want to let you know that I purchased Thule Aeroblades 53” (ARB53B) and the Cross Road Roof Rack Foot Pack (450R), and they worked out great. The foot packs allow for plenty of clearance for opening the MySky power roof (see pics). As an added bonus, the Aeroblades are very quiet with no “whistling”. Aeroblades come in Silver or Black, the black went well with my TH.

The question is can you still open the roof with a rack on?

Yes, the roof rack Foot Packs provide the extra clearance to allow the power roof to open/close with the Aeroblade roof cross bars on. I use my power roof daily (weather permitting) with no interference from the cross bars. There's about a 1" t0 1.25" clearance between highest point of the open power MySky panel and crossbar.

I think he might have meant, "Can you open it with a cargo basket mounted to the crossbars?"

Thanks for the clarification. I'm not sure how the Cargo Basket attaches to cross bars, but based on some pic's I've seen it looks like it clamps around the cross bar. If the clamp extends an inch or so below the cross bar, there may be an issue opening the power roof.

Sorry for the wording, but yes I meant with a roof basket attached.

And your point above about the mounting brackets extending below the crossbar is what gives most people issues with clearing the powered roof. I am still interested in getting the Thule bars and a rack at some point, but am holding off for the time being until I see some other people's setups.

This is my setup. It is more forward than I want so I will be modifying the brackets a bit so that it can be moved and still clear the mysky
