So my 2017 deserthawk didn't come with hitch so I started researching options. Looking at renegadeready hitch and saw a post somewhere that new trailhawks are prewired for hitch. Looked in compartment as suggested behind light on drivers side and found two connectors. Does this look like the right connector for factory wire harness? Renegade ready kit says it includes factory harness so I am thinking to try wiring to factory connectors. Sent from my iPhone using ToasterJeep mobile app
I did this install of the rr hitch, but I can't remember what the plug on the bumper was.. I just know I had cut it off then I installed it cause mines a 2015.. I might still have the plug somewhere but it was a wierd shape
Watch this video. It will show you what cables to use. I used this video to do my wiring. https://www.etrailer.com/tv-install-trailer-wiring-2016-jeep-renegade-118651.aspx
I also chose to follow these instructions while installing the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector Item # 118651 It simply worked. I found the same fuse block and at least one of those plugs show in the OP in that cavity on my '17 Latitude FWD. I'm still not sure just what they are for, and at this point, really don't care. My bike carrier/trailer lights work. Wishing the OP the best in getting your life lit up. Please keep us posted as to your final results.
My '15 TH was not wired for a hitch. I had to source power for a lighting controller off of that fuse block and use adapters that plug-in inline between the taillight housings and the factory harness connectors. The RR kit optionally came with this part, and it's what I used.
Ya, ya, old thread I know, but just an F.Y.I., I just installed a T-1 harness on my '17 and used a "add a circuit" or piggy back fuse adapter into "F7" on the rear fuse block for the constant 12V instead of going through the hassle of running a separate wire all the way up to the battery. Works fine.
