Up until about a week ago, daytime temps were up in the 70's and I was wearing shorts, flip-flops and was thinking about stripping down one of our Jeep JK Wranglers. Of course, just when I was sure that winter was finally over, mother nature had a way of reminding me of where I lived and up here in Northern Nevada, things can have a way of changing dramatically and all overnight. After waking up at the crack of dawn to a blanket of fresh snow on the ground and snow still coming down, Cindy and I decided to skip a cup of joe, loaded up our Renegade and got out into the white stuff! It was after all a RENEGADE SNOW DAY and we had to get out and lay down some fresh tracks before it all disappeared.

In this short video, you'll get to see our 1.5" Daystar lifted Jeep Renegade Trailhawk running 225/75R16 Cooper STT Pro tires playing in about a foot of fresh powder up in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Having rained hard just prior to changing to snow the night before, the ground underneath the white stuff was very slick. Amazingly, the Cooper STT's hooked up great and did a great job of clearing themselves. You will even get to see our Renegade take on a couple of steep snowy hills. One climb was even rutted enough to almost keep us from making the climb. We hope you enjoy the clip.

I'm getting the same lift kit but have the Renegade Ready 1" spacers already installed. I believe you went with 1 1/4" spacers. I plan on keeping the stock rims 17" and mounting a weather tire. I'm considering 235/65 17.

I have a couple questions you may be able to answer. Did you have any rubbing or make any changes on the wheel well? With your current set-up how much clearance do you have on the front inside at the edge of the tread? How about on the outside at the tread? How far (if any) does the tire width stick out from the fender?

Thanks in advance for any help,
    Robert

With the 225/75R16's we got, YES, we did have rubbing at about a bit more than half way through a full turn of the steering wheel. I did need to do some trimming of the pinch seam and some modifying of the fender liner to mitigate this. You can see a write-up I did for it here:

oh wow this looks like a ton of fun! I wish I would have picked up my toaster before all the snow in jersey was gone.

Question about tires, you're running a 225/75R16 with a spacer and still rubbed? Is there a consensus of the largest tire that can be ran without a space and without rubbing? I think I saw someone with a 225/70R16 that said there was no rubbing.

Yes that is with a spacer Chris. I'm running the same size tires and followed some of WoL's writeups when I did mine.
