Hey gang, Not doing anything any time soon, but I called the 800 number on my Lifetime Maxcare Warranty and asked customer service about lifts. She looked it up and said the contract states that "a Mopar lift of up to 2" performed by a Jeep dealership will have no impact on your lifetime warranty. ". When I asked about other brands, she just read the same passage suggesting it should be Mopar. Finally, when I asked about spacers, she said she couldn't find anything about spacers specifically in the contract, and so if they could be shown to have caused a problem you'd be on your own. I am thinking I'll drive my stock tires into the ground - 30 to40k miles - then do a lift and get bigger tires to push it up further, maybe 2.5 - 3 inches in total. I still have time, but all the tire info is helpful! Jason
LOL!! What the gal didn't tell you is that what's written is only "technically" true. In the end, your warranty is and whether or not it will be honored is up to your dealership. If they want, they can void your warranty and flag your Jeep for whatever reason they want and then it'll be up to you to fight tooth and nail to have the flag lifted. Ask me how I know. That being said, the single best thing you can do is to build a relationship with your dealership. Go in for regular oil changes and become a customer of theirs. Doing this will encourage them to work with you rather than piss you off. Trust me on this.
The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act states that the automaker must prove that such aftermarket part was the cause of a failure. Basically if you added a lift and your radio crapped out, they would still have to honor the warranty on the radio. Now if a CV goes out, they may have a case to deny you because a lift would put additional stress on a CV. you could fight it but it would be a pain in the ass in the long run. Wayoflife has the right idea with making friends at the dealership.
LOL!! Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act will only help you to FIGHT your warranty being voided. Trust me, I've been down this road before and I can guarantee you that your dealership can and WILL void your warranty for any reason they want. It will then be up to you to fight it tooth and nail with Chrysler to get it over-turned and they will make it as hard as possible to do.

Yes, we like our customers to have service done at dealership. It does not cost anymore money and its in your best interest in my opinion. At the dealership I work at we bend over backwards and literally spoil our customers. it's money in the bank!

Anyone have experience with working with any Toronto, Canada Jeep dealers on putting in the lift? It would be nice to get that relationship going if isn't going to cost a fortune more. Many I've talked to up here refuse to do it if it isn't a Mopar lift.
That's what I was afraid of. My dealer is really cool, and we specifically talked about putting a lift and tires on my TH and it not voiding the warranty. Since I will have to go through them, I hope they don't want to charge an arm and a leg or I may not do it at all. I cant justify paying twice what I could pay for it somewhere else, ill just have to live without before I do that.
