Hey guys, I bought my 2016 Trailhawk yesterday and was looking at the window sticker and it states it was to come with 215/65R17 All Terrain Tires, but it in fact has Falken Wildpeak HT (Highway Terrain) tires. I spoke to the dealer about it and they agreed the tires should be All Terrain. So I contacted Jeep and they agree also, so they are filing a case and will be contacting the dealership on Monday to try to figure out a corrective course of action. It would be nice if they would give me a credit towards tires that I can just use to get some more aggressive tires. I'm planning on lifting it anways. So, I will keep you all informed on what happens next week. Maybe it will help some other 2016 TH owners that would perfer AT tires since as of right now, the window sticker is false advertising the tires that you are paying for, kinda illegal...
Interesting. My TH has the Falken HTs also. However when I look at the window sticker it remains silent on tires. In fact it makes no mention of wheels or tires. I'll be interested to know how this turns out. Keep us posted.
It doesn't say "215/65R17 All Terrain Tires" anywhere on your window sticker? Very intereating. Is your TH a 2016? I'm wondering if FCA caught the issue at some point, but didn't fix it on others.
If you put your VIN in this form https://jeep.custhelp.com/app/jeep/eqlisting_detail/session/L3RpbWUvMTM5MzY0MzI4OC9zaWQvWGxOMmc2T2w= what type of tires you should get ?
This window sticker is made by dealer or FCA ? I guess dealer - I know our dealers do this stickers. That's why I gave you link to check factory equipment of your jeep. In my case, stock wheels came with M+S all season tires as stated in factory declaration.
This is from the website you linked when I entered my VIN number. Im not sure who provides the window sticker. I always thought that the manufacturer provided them. The build sheet below also states "All Terrain Tires"
How did you contact Jeep? I also have the highway tires while the build sheet and window sticker say all terrain. I too plan to upgrade tires, but woukd rather have the AT as my stock tires. If enough of us complain maybe there will be some kind of official recall.
I just went to jeep.com at the bottom of the page is "Contact Us", then went to an online chat and spoke to someone that way. Seems to be the easiest way and I took screen shots of the chat for my own records if needed. They were able to file a claim and give me a claim number. Thwy are contacting my dealership tomorrow and said they would email me with any information afterwards.
I just did the same thing. Have a case number. I had mine shipped from another dealer and only really saw the build sheet to make sure I had the right options. My argument is that I was stuck with it at that point and was mislead. Plus the the trailhawk cherokees DO have AT tires so this seems a little inconsistent. Hope we all get new tires...
I always thought the manufacturer created the window sticker since dealers always say they can't deviate (remove or exchange) what's on the sticker.
In that case you put the claim on right adress. Lucky you, when the claim will be solved. First words to my dealer, when my TH arrived, was " what the Italians were thinking, puting road tires on Jeep. Ok, maybe on FWD, but on TH ?????" I assume, they put what they get for discount price. They could at least easly put Yokohama AT G012. It is much suitable and even cheaper than GY Vector 4 seasson that I got.
Just letting you all know, Jeep says the wild HT is an all-terrain. That's what the higher ups told the sales guy to tell me anyway. Falken's website doesn't specifically say, but the wording seems to mean all season to me. Most tire dealer sites call it all season. Not sure if I'm going to keep pushing cause I want a bigger tire anyway, but I encourage everyone else to complain too.
My case is still open with Jeep and Im waiting to hear back again. HT means Highway Terrian, it's definitely not an all terrian tire since Falken makes the same Wildpeak model in a specific AT style. I will let you know what I hear from my case manager.
Ok guys, I just spoke with my Sales Manager at the dealership and he has been talking to my Case Manager at Jeep. It appears like Jeep is going to be giving me credit for new tires and installation through my dealership. The dealer is providing them an estimate based on 4 BFG All Terrain KO2 tires since that is what I want. I should hear back early next week on when I can have them installed. Im a little surprised that this all worked out in my favor, but I guess thats what happens when you bug the crap out of Jeep and threaten a lawsuit for false advertising, haha.
Interesting. I'll have to check mine as well. I know they're Falken Wildpeaks, but not sure the model or what the window sticker says.
Arhshelby what size KO2's are the dealer installing? I will be contact Jeep today as my window sticker doesn't even list tires on it! However my build sheet says something different!! On/Off road tires! Not sure if I can argue anything!
