IMG_0456.JPG We went from a 2004 Scion xB (R.S. 1.0 Hot Lava) to the Jungle Green 2016 75th Anniversary 1.4T Renegade. We really loved the xB, just got tired of the "low life". It was a great handling car though, absolutely never broke down or had to fix anything in 230,000 miles despite our abuse of its drivetrain. Miss the parking brake and the smooth naturally aspirated power, even though it wasn't much. We do love the Renegade, though. But it has a lot to live up to.

My first car was Jeep Wrangler Sahara 2011. Still own it back in California. Renegade Trailhawk 2015 2.0 Diesel is my second and current, in Latvia.

Had a Hyundai... kill me... I absolutely love my Rene! Bought a latitude and I'm gearing up to make more capable.

The Trailhawk is the wife's. Her previous is an Acura Integra coupe. Still have it. Good thing too because the damn dealer didn't give her a loaner when it went in for service yesterday.

I came from a 2014 Subaru Impreza hatchback. Loved that car to death, literally.. IMG_6054.JPG
I've had the Renny for about 8 months now, and I don't think I'll ever buy another car that's not a 4x4. Absolutely love it.

Ouch. Looks like contact with a small SUV or pickup? The front structural bumper was just a hair too low if I'm interpreting what happened correctly.

Yeah I was going around a corner faster than I should have been going. My front right tire blew and I lost control. I side swiped a concrete barrier, then I hit the back of an old minivan. Long story short, I learned my lesson.

Had a '04 Audi TT 1.8L turbo. Holy crap was that thing fun to drive. The teeth on the rubber timing belt stripped off one morning and all the valves collided with all the pistons. Bye bye Audi. That made me sad.

My father then gave me his '09 Ford Escape V6 (28k miles) so, at my mother's behest, he could go buy a new car. My mom told him to get a nicer car, so he went and got the exact same Escape, but in black. That really annoyed her.

I took his old Escape to just over 200k miles. Finally Traded it in January of this year because it was eating a quart of oil every 1k miles.

Currently have 8k miles on my Renegade and love the thing!

No offense to you but did he like the escape...? My grandpa has had a 2010 for a year and has replaced the alternator 3 times... With absolutely no help from dealer. Not to mention his 01 ranger that didn't have 2nd gear and the clutch only worked half the time...

Sorry bit biased based on my experience.. but I doubt I'll ever buy the same car twice..

Yeah. my father loves it. His 2012 is going great. My mom is pressuring him to get a nicer car now that he is retired, but he is really hesitant to let this one go. It is the 3rd generation one where it is all squared off, not the newer "i wanna be a BMW" ones that look like someone squished the back end.

The 09 Escape he gave me had absolutely no problems until it started eating oil around 200k. I had to replace the alternator and put new shocks/struts on at 150k miles, and that is it. Everything else was general maintenance with the thing. I even ran a 1400 watt stereo system off the stock alternator for most of its life. The only electrical problem I had was when my negative ground cable from the battery somehow corroded out. Just put a new wire on, and things were good.

I have good luck in general with cars. Every vehicle I have taken at least 18oK miles, except for the Audi, that died at 120K-ish. I have had a Plymouth Neon, Ford Mustang, Grand Cherokee, Audi TT, Ford Escape, and now the Renegade. None of them had any major problems, and if they did, I put so many miles on them it was better just to trade it in a get a new vehicle.

Agreed that's what I'm saving up for my renney, going to get a winch, a lift, and some skid plates. To make it more capable off road, I had a camry before this.

So, when I met my wife, we had matching Scion TC's. Both were Release Series (7.0 & 8.0). As our family started growing, we needed something bigger, so the Scions were out, and the Jeeps were in. 2015 Grand Cherokee Altitude and 2015 Renegade Trailhawk.

I had a 2011 Chrysler 200 Touring with the V6. It was the best highway car I ever owned... but I love the outdoors and got tired of hiking in from the pavement. I only missed the extra 103hp/90 ftlbs on the drive home. I love my Rene, makes me smile driving to and from work at inhumane hours. What a fun ride and a blast on the trails! 20170403_180820.jpeg 200px-2011_Chrysler_200_Touring_--_02-14-2011.jpeg

I strongly considered a Chrysler 200 prior to purchasing my '95 Impala. The 200 was a pretty strong runner, but like the Renegade it tends to hunt for the right gear before taking off. The Impala does not have that problem in exchange for worse gas mileage.

I think it has more to do with the traction control... the 200 is slow off the line but a beast on the highway or in the mountains... but it's a floating couch, comfy but not very exciting. Love my Jeep!
