Just wanted to send out a grand Ni Hao (Hello) from China .... The Jeep renegade will be available soon here in China .. as a Canadian expat working and living abroad .. I am actually very excited to be able to get a Jeep ... Thank you wayoflife for creating this forum and testing/modifying the renegade ... your video's and the community in these forums is what finally convinced me and my wife to get one. We are not rock climbers .. but complete newbies to jeeps ... I always wanted a Wrangler .. and went along with friends when I was younger .. going through trials and pits ... Van-B.C. Not even sure if the city I live in now has a Jeep community???.. but will soon find out ... In this province there are definitely many roads that are not even paved .. narrow etc... Planning on getting .. a TH and adding lift-spacers-rocksliders-and bigger tires .. 235/60-65/17 if possible .. or 225's like everyone has confirmed ... really depends if i can find a shop to help cut the pinch seem.... Getting all products shipped in from Maddness or Daystar suppliers ... or who ever will send internationally without braking the bank... Learned a lot from the forums ... PS. In China I believe the engine will be the 2.0 tiger vs the 2.4 in North America ... I do wonder if that will cause any further issues with increasing tire size .. i think it has roughly 30-50 less horsepower .. also not sure if the same 9 speed is being used...??? Saw many posts/vids saying the North American Renegade could use a little bit more power ... so cutting back on HP will it still be able to do what NA renegades are tackling ?? Thanks again
Thanks so much Thawk and Volley ... looking forward to getting a jeep modding lifestyle into this area of China .. The cool thing about China is once you drive out 2-3 hours away from the city .. it is completely deserted .. plenty of off-roading opps ..
Welcome and like you said earlier you have narrow streets, that's right up the renegades alley, short turning radius. 2.4 seems to have lower gear grunt so maybe the 2.0 will also. Enjoy!
